Arts programs are typically the first programs cut in tightening budgets and have suffered from many years of declining school budgets. Yet arts programs are required by the state to be an integral part of the curriculum, a recognition of their benefit to cognitive learning skills.

The Foundation supports arts education for all students as a vital and fundamental part of the core curriculum.

The arts foster students' abilities to develop problem solving skills, flexibility, creativity, cooperative approaches, persistence, and responsibility as well as oral and written language skills.

Supported programs range from activities which simply provide exposure to a large body of students to those which provide more in-depth training.

The Foundation is focused on programs for the arts which are not currently funded through other sources, such as:

¨ Expanded Music Program K-12

¨ String Instrument Program
beginning in Elementary School

¨ Orchestra in Middle and High School

¨ Expanded vocal music program

¨ Expanded Art Program

¨ Art Specialists in the Elementary Schools

¨ Artists in the school program

¨ Multimedia & Interactive Media Program

¨ 2-D/3-D drawing

¨ Dance Program

¨ Expanded drama program into
Elementary Schools

¨ Digital Video & Movie Making
